Finally I threw caution to the wind and began to art journal. I started with minimal supplies, old acrylic and watercolor paints, a collection of pens I got for Christmas, old scrapbooking material as well as some junk mail and magazines that were cluttering up my house. I did purchase some Gesso and fiber paste to get myself started and began creating.
Here is the first page in my journal:
I've done a couple others I will post in the future.

ICAD Challenge
I started this blog as a way to record my art journey, then I promptly ignored it! Ignore no more! I've been doing a lot of creating lately through a challenge called ICAD - Index Card A Day, put on by Tammy Garcia at Daisy Yellow. The challenge is to create a piece of art each day in the months of June and July. I've been having a blast and learning a lot from the other participants.
Here are the first 7 cards I created:

Inner Artist Out
The last thing I thought I had have time to do is start a new blog. However, here I am with my first post on a brand new blog. I have discovered tangled art (also known as doodling) and now art journaling and I want to share. I'm proud of what I'm doing with the creative side of myself. I finally feel like a "real" artist for the first time.
A few years ago I discovered Zentangle® art, but didn't do much with it until the fall of 2012. I received a Zentangle® kit, extra micron pens in different colors and sizes, colored pencils, and paper as gifts and I have not looked back.
The art of Zentangle® has let my inner artist out and it feels amazing!
